Hagar Focused on Victory Lane This Saturday at I-30 Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – MARION, Ark. (Sept. 15, 2015) – Derek Hagar will take another crack at reaching the I-30 Speedway Winner’s Circle this Saturday.

Hagar, who hasn’t won at the quarter-mile oval in Little Rock, Ark., since April 2014, has been very competitive during four previous features this season.

“We need to get a good starting position in the heat race,” he said. “We need to start near the front and pass a car or two to get a good spot for the feature. We need to get ahead of the game in the heat race to set us up in a good position for the feature.”

Hagar has registered results of fifth, third, fourth and eighth, respectively. However, he’s had to come from midpack during three of those races.

“They have a different person prepping the track so it’s holding a lot more water than it used to,” he said. “The race track has been wet and heavy the last couple times we’ve been there. We have to try to figure something out before we go back for Short Track Nationals in October.”

Hagar has earned 10 straight top-10 finishes, including nine podium finishes during that span.
