Hagar Ready for Challenge Once USCS Fall Nationals Resumes at Riverside

Inside Line Promotions – WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (Oct. 16, 2018) – Derek Hagar has his work cut out for him when the 10th annual USCS Fall Nationals and Flip Flop 54 resumes on Oct. 27.

The USCS Series event at Riverside International Speedway began last Friday, when Hagar finished where he started – seventh – in a heat race.

“We had a bad draw with a tough heat race and on a trough track to pass on,” he said. “Nothing lined up for us Friday. It made for a short night. All we got to do was hot lap and heat race and our night was over.”

Saturday’s twin feature night was postponed until later this month because of inclement weather. Hagar said he will likely line up in the middle of the B Main and will need to move forward to transfer into the twin main events.

“We have to make the best of it,” he said. “It’s not a long race so you have to make things happen quick. Having to run a B Main, at least we’ll know what the track is doing. The thing about it is we’ll start in the back of the first A Main. We’ll try to hustle to get to the front and then the second feature is inverted so we’ll have to pass a lot of cars. We’ll do our best to put on a good show.”
