Hagar Racing Midget at Crowley’s Ridge and Riverside This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – MARION, Ark. (June 10, 2020) – Derek Hagar is wearing two hats this weekend.

Not only will he be racing during both nights of midget competition in his home state of Arkansas, Hagar has been hustling to promote the races on Friday at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway in Paragould and on Saturday at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis.

“I think we’re sitting around 15-to-20 cars on Friday,” he said. “I think it will be a big night. We’re part of promoting it. It was going to be a one-day deal. I got some guys from Mississippi to bring their D2 midgets so Riverside added them to the program on Saturday so there’s more racing.”

Hagar said there will be bonuses for drivers racing D2 midgets during both nights of action. He is part of a three-car Hagar Proctor Racing team that will tackle both races. Cody Hays and Chase Howard are also team drivers this weekend.

“I’ve tested a midget around Riverside, but as far as racing I haven’t done it at either track,” Hagar said. “I’m pretty excited for this weekend and to race something different in the midget than just Chili Bowl and Du Quoin.”

Hagar last drove his midget in March, but a mechanical problem during hot laps kept him from competing. His most recent official race was the Chili Bowl Nationals in January. Hagar produced a career-best outing during the marquee midget event.
