Hagar Aiming for Top Prize at Lake Ozark Speedway’s Sprint and Midget Nationals

Inside Line Promotions – MARION, Ark. (May 25, 2021) – Derek Hagar is bound for Missouri this weekend to take part in the inaugural Sprint and Midget Nationals presented by The Drivers Project.

Hagar will participate in the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour portion of the doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, where he captured a $5,000-to-win top prize last year. This weekend is capped by a feature that pays twice that amount.

“There’s a lot of money on the line,” he said. “It’d be a good weekend to shine.”

Hagar has been strong at the track in recent years, earning a pair of victories and six podiums in eight starts since 2017.

“We seem to run well when we race there,” he said. “I don’t see why we can’t pick up two wins. It’s a good track for us. I know our team is capable of doing it. We have to keep our nose clean to try to pull it off.”

Hagar had planned on running with the ASCS National Tour last Saturday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., but the event rained out.

“It’s been two weekends where we’re supposed to race, but didn’t get to race,” he said. “I’m antsy to get in the seat and have a good run with the ASCS National Tour drivers.”
